Matt Russell talks about colour measurement. Although you may be familiar with CIE L*a*b*, there is much more to colour measurement and many other options available. Many industries utilise other established and successful colour evaluation systems optimised for their requirements. This lecture will reinforce what you may already know about colour and introduce some new concepts. Matt will talk about why you might want to measure colour, he’ll touch on light source, object and observer, and will explain the key concepts of CIE L*a*b*.  But that’s not all. He will also introduce transmission colour measurement of edible oils, fragrance, petroleum, pharmaceuticals etc, scales and standards, plus measuring Lovibond RYBN, visual and automatic.

Matt will:

• Refresh and reinforce your colour knowledge of CIE L*a*b*
• Develop your understanding of the concept of Colour Scales and Standards

The presentation is followed by a Q&A.
