Welcome to your course on Dyeing – What you need to know.

If you are new to dyeing or returning to the subject, or in any way involved in the coloration of textiles, this course will provide the basic information to help you do your job. Use it to improve communication between your team and between you and your suppliers. This simple-to-access course provides entry level information to everyone.

The video in the following lesson will provide some basic information on what is expected of a dyer and what a good dyers expects to do for you given the right information. The role of the dye and chemical supplier is explained and the need to find the right one.

We all know about the need for chemical compliance in the indsutry from the work of Greenpeace and other NGOs but how do we navigate through this when the word chemistry and chemicals seems so far from what we know? Hopefully this will show you that there are ways to do this using a little knowledge and encourage you to take this on with a few useful hints and tips.
